Discretionary Housing Payments
Discretionary Housing Payments are available to anyone in receipt of Housing Benefit or the Housing Cost element of Universal Credit, to support them to pay the shortfall between their benefit and their full rent charge. Local Welfare Assistance
Applications are welcome from anyone entitled to Housing Benefit or certain DWP benefits, to support them during certain one-off emergency situations. Apply online: https://www.brent.gov.uk/services-for-residents/benefits-and-money-advice/claim-local-welfare-assistance/
Council Tax support
Help for those on a low income to pay their Council Tax. Apply online: https://www.brent.gov.uk/services-for-residents/benefits-and-money-advice/council-tax-support-information/
There have been some other financial support measures announced, such as an additional payment of up to £150 for Working Age Council Tax Support recipients. More information will be published once confirmed.
